Be sure to get the size right. When your wife is not around, sneak into her bureau drawers and check out what sizes she already has. If you can't remember things like a bra size, then go for pieces of lingerie that come in a small, medium or large. This can give you less room for error; simply check some of her shirts or bottoms like yoga pants or sweatpants to determine what size you should buy. If she has two different sizes in her closet, always buy the smaller size.

Get undergarments that you know your wife would actually wear. Some men simply buy for themselves instead of considering their wife's taste. If you like corsets, but you know she hates tight and restricting pieces of clothing, then a corset may not be a good idea for her. Instead she may like a flowing babydoll outfit or chemise.

Find a retailer that sells quality items. Your wife is not going to want something that will fall apart after wearing it once, or is so itchy she can't even put it on. You can still find quality lingerie that is not that expensive.
